We’ve had a few reports from our customers and non-customers that they’ve been having issues with the bluetooth remote that comes packaged with the Cellon TV Olli box.
We’ve ran a few tests and have indeed found that their are one-off instances where for some reason, the remote would malfunction and not pair with the box. Though the majority of them do consistently work, we understand that it can be frustrating to not have the remote control working when you need it.
Solution
There are a few things you can do to trigger the remote to work with your box again.
- Do a quick manufacturer data reset on your box. This will generally clear any hiccups with your box, and in most instances fixes the issue.
- Make sure that your box has Bluetooth activated. Just like if your box does not have WiFi activated, your remote control can’t pair with your box if the Bluetooth option is not activate.
- Ensure that you are pressing the pair button on your remote control long enough. We found that it can take up to 20 seconds for the remote to pair with your set-top box. Once paired, you will hear a chime indicating your remote control is paired. Remember to turn your TV volume up loud enough before pairing just so you can hear the chime once it’s paired.
Alternate Solution – Great Option
Because the Olli box is manufactured by Avov, you can use an older model Avov IR remote controls to control your Olli box. NO PAIRING NEEDED. This is probably the most simple and best solution, but there is a downside.
If you don’t have one of the standard Avov remote controls, visit our store to purchase one.
The two main plus sides of using a standard Avov remote control is:
- there is no need for pairing
- more button features
Conclusion
If you do find that your Olli box Bluetooth remote control is not working, go through the basic troubleshooting option mentioned above. If that doesn’t work, try the alternative option provided.
